Oregon welcomes Jane!

My brain is pretty much mush right now...since it is 10:42 according to my body, but in "real time" it is 7:42. I am trying to stay up later tonight since I don't have to get up and drive tomorrow!! YEAH!
Thank you for all your prayers for personal safety, mechanical safety and spiritual safety! All prayers have been answered. Isn't our God gracious with the timing of my driving? As my Dad said to me tonight--I missed the storm that came BEFORE I was driving, and now that I am here, I am missing the storm that is ARRIVING tomorrow! Our God is GREAT in His timing--just another confirmation and His mighty hand that we can see.

More news to come in a few days....

Smiles from Oregon, and lookin' together with you to Jesus!

Laramie, Wyoming

Nebraska wild life consists of long legged gray looking birds that swarmed and swooped over the highway and landed in fields. What are they? I did see some some recognizable animals: cows and horses :-). Again, I thank the Lord there was very little wind today...a good travel day through NE. Most of the trucks and vehicles coming East were packed with icicles and snow! I heard at the truck stop that I-80 was closed last night....and if today were yesterday I would of been finding different lodging. So, again, I thank the Lord for the timing of the storm, and the safety in travels today.

I just HAD to stop in Sydney NE--the home of Cabela's :-). I wandered around for about 2 hours and came away with some socks, a rod tube, and a z-rest all for under 40 bucks!! I was pretty happy with my bargains from the bargain den that's for sure! It felt good to stretch my legs and enjoy God's creation that is mounted and stuffed. Beautiful and fascinating!

So what was that huge beast on the hills next to the highway after I entered Wyoming? The one that as I looked to the left I steered to the right and those rumble strips got my attention back on the road?! Wasn't a deer that's for sure!

Gladys took the foothills a little slow--so tomorrow when I hit some bigger up hill grades going into the mountains I am pretty sure we'll be able to check out the scenery real well since we won't be going 60! Your continued prayers for road, wind, mechanical and personal safety are much appreciated!

The view has been incredible today. I have never been this far West (that I remember what I saw), and the hills, fields, rock formations, snow, ranches, trains, animals, and the sunshine were delightful for my eyes and heart. I'm thinking that tomorrows views will be even more spectacular!

I enjoyed the many phone conversations with different family members today---it was fun hearing about what was going on with them, and for me to give them a "picture" of what I was seeing.

Hope this makes sense, I'm bushed and headed for a good nights sleep!

Keep smilin' and lookin' to Jesus with me!

Nebraska greetings

Just a quick note--great travels today---cloudy and not a lot of wind! I even saw a rainbow! Took a "tour" of Omaha today--Map Quest was a little confused! Thankfully the nice gentleman at the gas station gave wonderful directions!
Tomorrow will be a longer day--10 plus hours.
Praise the Lord with me for answered prayers so far--and we trust Him for tomorrow as well.

3 States in 1 day!

Michigan, Indiana and Illinois. I am in New Lenox hanging out with my Aunt Betty. Uncle Max is away on a business trip, so it just us girls :-). We finished a fabulous supper and have been enjoying catching each other up on the latest news in our lives.
Gladys and I continued our bonding process. She ran flawlessly, and purred happily while everyone (minus two trucks) flew past us like rabbits passing a turtle :-).
Thank you for your prayers on this first leg of my journey.
I also want to thank my church for a wonderful time of celebration and commissioning Sunday night. The food, fellowship, encouraging words, hugs, and tears will stay imprinted on my heart and mind for a long time. Trinity Baptist Church is the BEST!

YEEEHAAA Oregon here I come!!

Hello everyone!

I am so excited! It seems like a long time since November 2nd when I received my invitation to serve at CPYR--but now it is only days away till April 1!

Last Friday was my final day at work. They had a really nice going away lunch, some fun and practical presents--and yes, tears. It's tough leaving the people who have been such a big part of my life these past years! However, I am planning on seeing them in December sometime--and so it makes the parting a little easier.

This week is chocked full of packing, and spending time with family. Gladys seems eager for the trip--and with her new trailer hitch she's lookin' pretty :-). Now, just to figure out what to leave and what to bring! I am THRILLED that I can bring my motorcycle! We are going to have some fantastic rides in the beautiful countryside!

I am leaving Michigan Monday the 23rd and will spend a few days in the Chicago area visiting family, and early Thursday morning head West.

I sure do appreciate your many prayers these days. I also appreciate your prayers for safe travels both mechanically, and personally. The llllooooonnnnnggggg four days, I pray, will fly by with books on tape, music and new scenery.

Keep smilin' and lookin' to Jesus with me today! :-)
